(Bryan, p.43); this is true, but quite misleading, since the reader may well assume that an even distribution over each continent is intended; the present study only discovered one player in Australasia, precious few in Africa (only vague references from Egypt), and none from South America; also:

7 of 17 - "... and to most countries".

It is just possible that fractionally more than 50% of the world's nations have had some contact with the instrument, but again this is misleading, even if true, for only a tiny part of the worlds land mass is inhabited by people who are familiar with them.
