The dulcimer in Lithuania is discussed in Karutz' work, from which Dr. Norlind made a sketch (53); the form is very like that of the Grindelwald beggar girl's Hackbrett in Geiser (54).

Eileen Rain writes to Dulcimer Players' News (ii,2;5) that "the hammered dulcimer is 'the' folk instrument" in Lithuania, although there seems to be some confusion here with the plucked kanekles (kantele).
